Welcome to Hills Beach Volunteer Rescue Unit and its 'Shelter Center', your lifeline in times of emergency on the stunning peninsula of Hills Beach, Biddeford! This all-volunteer emergency rescue unit and shelter center has served this entire peninsula for many years and we take immense pride in our mission to safeguard lives and provide essential support to our community.

IMPORTANT! Authority for emergency responses is vested first in the city and state authorized personnel and any responses made by the volunteers of the HBVRU will always yield all assistance to 'authorized' emergency first responders and will assist them whenever and however they need assistance.

Our rescue station stands as a beacon of hope, housing equipment and resources to help provide an effective response to anyone in need. With our dedicated team of volunteers and inside our rescue station rescue equipment, we are always ready to rush to the aid of anyone whose life may be in danger, be it on land or at sea.

But our commitment doesn't stop there. We also offer ample room to shelter and accommodate a sizeable number of people during crises. Our shelter center, located within the rescue station, provides a safe haven for individuals facing extreme weather conditions, especially during power outages, or other emergencies. When the storm rages or the unexpected strikes, know that you can rely on us for shelter, warmth, and the support you need.
